Why aren't doctor's punctual?

One observation that I have carried with me for long is that doctors very rarely stick to the time that they have given for an appointment. For the past two months circumstances forced me to visit a lot of doctors and not one of them came on time. This is something that I find very hard to discern. What could be the reason for this? Is it because they are not unable to judge the time that they require to treat one patient and this changes their schedule? Even in the cases where I have been the first patient to be treated on that day, I have found that the doctors never arrive at their scheduled start time. Maybe some of my doctor friends can throw light on this.

This past weekend

I had a big weekend last week. This coincided( not intentionally) with the 3rd test match between India and Pakistan. At the end of the weekend I felt awful, because India played dreadful cricket to lose 9 wickets in the last two innings. It was a weekend well spent. Apart from the many mundane activities I indulge in, I felt good after seeing two critically acclaimed films.

Page 3 was a realistic attempt to bring to light what "Page 3" really is. Great performances, amazing screenplay and a lot of forgotten TV serial actors( who frequented Doordarshan during the "no cable TV" days) made this a paisa vasool film. There were no typical Bollywood senti scenes, no songs that let up the pace of the movie.

The second film which I watched called Goodfellas did not disappoint either. This 1990 film directed by Martin Scorsese is gripping, funny at times( thanks mainly to the histrionics of Joe Pesci in an Oscar winning role) and has a great cast to go with it. Ray Liotta is brilliant as the main protagonist and so is Robert De Niro. What I found different about this film is that the violence is subdued, almost as if the intention is to focus on the characters than on what they actually do, which was really not in keeping with films of this genre. Probably that's the reason I found the flick very enjoyable.
